Ohyama Tokubetsu Junmai es un escalón por encima del junmai estándar de la Kato Kahachiro Shuzo, elaborado en Yamagata con un ratio de pulido más alto o una variedad de arroz especialmente seleccionada para merecer la designación tokubetsu. La elaboración con arroz puro entrega un cuerpo pleno con sabores limpios y secos y la claridad característica de Yamagata. Se sitúa cómodamente entre el junmai cotidiano y el nivel ginjo más refinado.
