Honjozo Shiki es producido por Oitashuzouten en la prefectura de Gifu con arroz pulido al 70 % o menos, con una modesta adición de alcohol destilado para realzar los aromas y aligerar el cuerpo. El tema de las cuatro estaciones de su nombre conecta el sake con los ritmos naturales del entorno de las tierras altas de Hida en Gifu. Este honjozo ofrece un perfil limpio y ligeramente seco con un final crujiente típico del estilo.
