Tokubetsu Junmai schmeckt sehr gut pur, warm oder kalt. Erwärmt oder bei Zimmertemperatur serviert, passt er gut zu leicht gewürzten, herzhaften Gerichten wie Champignonquiche, gegrilltem Aal (ohne Sauce), Misosuppe und Brathähnchen. Bei Zimmertemperatur harmoniert er gut mit Blauschimmelkäse und mittelkräftigen, gereiften Weißkäsen wie Cheddar und Gruyère. Kalt serviert, ergänzt dieser sake zarte herzhafte Speisen, gegrillte Hähnchenbrust, Schafgouda, jungen Gruyère und sehr cremige, milde Käse wie Brillat Savarin.
