Gegründet am Ende der Edo-Zeit unter dem 11. Shogun Tokugawa Ienari (1786), ist die Brauerei ein alteingesessenes Haus. Ursprünglich als Kimono-Händler tätig, erwarb Hachimoto Hachimon ein Sake-Geschäft und begann mit der Sake-Herstellung, wobei die Tradition seither weitergegeben wird.
