Geschichte & Medien
Geschichte
1860
Founded in the Man'en era (1860) as a sake brewery in Komatsu, Ishikawa Prefecture; now in its 7th generation.
1902
The West Storehouse (Nishi-gura) was relocated; the original construction plaque from this move survives today.
1936
A fire destroyed nearly all of the brewery buildings except the West Storehouse.
1949
The main sake warehouse was rebuilt using locally quarried Kanagaso stone, chosen for its insulating properties.
1951
Construction began on the Keishoan tea house, sukiya-style rooms, and garden, designed by Kanazawa garden master Jusen Maruoka.
2009
On January 8, 2009, twelve of the brewery's buildings and residence were registered as National Tangible Cultural Properties.
