Yamaotokoyama

Otokoyama Syuzo traces its lineage to a sake brewery called Momenya operated by Yamamoto Saemon in Itami, Kansai, during the Edo period, with the rights and history eventually passing to what became Otokoyama Brewery in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. In 1977 it became the first sake brewery in the world to receive the Monde Selection award for sake, a recognition it has maintained for over four decades, and its products are now exported to more than 20 countries. Brewed with soft mineral water from Asahikawa, the Yamaotokoyama sake tends toward a dry, light profile suited to the region's abundant seafood.
