Traincup
Shusenkurano Co., Ltd. in Nagano Prefecture traces its founding to 1540, making it the oldest sake brewery in Nagano, and its location near the Chikuma River was the site where the armies of Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi clashed repeatedly in the Battles of Kawanakajima. Traincup is one of the brewery's compact single-serve expressions, following the Japanese cup-sake tradition originally associated with train travel and ekiben bento meals. The brewery is best known internationally for its Kawanakajima Genbu line, which has won gold at the National New Sake Appraisal.
