Taiheikai

Taiheikai, meaning Pacific Ocean, was the original brand of Huchu Homare when the brewery was founded in 1854 in Ibaraki Prefecture, named for the ocean that defines the region's geography and identity. The brand shares in Huchu Homare's distinctive house style, balancing fruitiness with light earthiness and a steamed-rice umami character in a medium-bodied, soft texture. Huchu Homare is recognized as one of Ibaraki's most respected breweries, with a lineage mentored in part by the celebrated Sudo Honke.
