Funaki is a brewery-exclusive brand produced by Funaki Shuzo, a fifth-generation sake brewery founded in 1866 in Fukui City and available only to a select group of customers. The brewery draws subterranean water from 150 meters deep in the Kuzuryu River basin and prioritizes locally grown Gohyakumangoku rice for its junmai expressions. Crafted at the same house responsible for Kitanosho and Wakashika, Funaki sake shares the brewery's hallmark of clean, smooth flavor built on long, low-temperature fermentation.
