Duke is a label from Miwa Shuzo, a brewery founded in 1837 in Ogaki, Gifu Prefecture, a city celebrated for its abundant spring water. Miwa Shuzo built its reputation on nigorizake, specializing so deeply that cloudy sake accounts for about 90% of production, including the world-famous Shirakawago, which was originally created for the UNESCO-listed Shirakawago village's doburoku festival.
