Asahitaka is the locally distributed label of Takagi Brewery in Murayama City, Yamagata Prefecture — the same brewery that produces the nationally celebrated Juyondai. Founded in 1615 with over 400 years of history, the brewery draws its water from a natural spring 25 meters underground, and Asahitaka is brewed as a tokubetsu honjozo that carries the house's characteristic soft texture and gentle sweetness, available almost exclusively within Yamagata.
