Founded as a sake brewery in Nakatsu, Oita Prefecture, during the Koka era (1844). The brand was named "Tsuru Tenshin."
1931
In Showa 6 (1931), the brewery discovered a source of pure spring water at the foot of Mt. Sarakura in Yahata, Kitakyushu, and relocated there. The brand was renamed "Tenshin," becoming the local sake of Kitakyushu.
