Takanenishiki is a tokubetsu honjozo named after Takanene Nishiki, a sake rice variety cultivated in Nagano prefecture, celebrating the local agricultural heritage of Shinshu. Kikusui Shuzo in Iida uses this regional rice to produce a specially designated honjozo with a clean, well-defined flavor reflecting the character of its Nagano-grown grain.
