Ocean 99 Ginga Departure - Junmai Ginjo sake from Kankiku Meijo Co., Chiba
Description

Kankiku Meijo, founded in 1883 on the coast of Kujukurihama, one of Japan's longest stretches of ocean beach in Chiba Prefecture, conceived the Ocean 99 series as a sake calendar tied to the sea's seasonal moods. 'Ginga Departure' is the series' first release of each new brewing year, its name superimposing the exhilarating energy of a departure over the Kujukuri shoreline with the character of freshly pressed namazake. Brewed as an unfiltered, unpasteurized junmai ginjo, it is designed to express the effervescence and juicy umami characteristic of new-season sake before it mellows with age.
