Fukui Prefecture Benisashi plums and rock sugar are combined with 1988-vintage aged sake in this koshu umeshu, using the same base as the final Showa-era junmai in the series. The lively acidity characteristic of the 1988 base vintage carries into the plum liqueur, lending a bright, clean edge to the mellow koshu sweetness.
