양조장 소개
에도 시대 후기부터 청어 어업의 거점으로 번성했던 지역에서 태어난 양조장으로, 어장에서 일하는 사람들을 위해 술을 빚기 시작한 것이 그 시초다. 기타마에 선박이 식수 보급지로 즐겨 이용할 만큼 양질의 물로 유명한 이 고장의 풍부한 자연과 지역 산물이 '구니마레'를 키워왔다. 메이지·다이쇼 시대의 석조 창고들이 역사적 거리 경관을 이루며 정취 있는 분위기를 자아낸다.

역사
1875
Founder Honma Taizo moved to Mashike and started a dry-goods and kimono business.
1882
Taizo filed a sake brewing license application with the Mashike district office, marking the company's founding; the business was named 'Maruichi Honma.'
1902
A new brewery building using local soft stone was constructed at the current site, and the business became a registered partnership company, Maruichi Homma Gomeikaisha (sake brewing division).
1920
The flagship sake was renamed 'Kunimare,' taking a character from the name of Army General Nogi Maresuke, and became the brand's standard product name.
2001
One hundred years after the partnership company was established, the business was renamed Kunimare Sake Brewery Co., Ltd.
