Kinemon Yamamoto purchased a brewery (sake brewing right) called "Sugaiya" in Meiji 2 and founded the sake brewing industry. The current president is the sixth generation. Founded when first-generation Kizaemon Yamamoto purchased a sake brewing house called Sugaiya; the third generation, Kashiro Yamamoto, later named the brand Kinpo, inspired by the Byodo-in Temple in Uji.
1937
Won first place nationwide at the National Sake Appraisal Fair.
1951
Fifth-generation Shiro Yamamoto reorganized the brewery into a corporation.

Adopted the slogan and jingle 'The mountain is Mt. Daisen, the sake is Kinpo' and began television commercials (circa 1965).
