Oujiman, Inc. is a sake brewery based in Yamagata Prefecture with roots dating to 1724, making it one of the oldest active breweries in the Tohoku region. Around 2009 the brewery faced closure, and neighboring Tatenokawa Brewery stepped in with support, dispatching a team of young brewers who revived production and set a new creative direction. The brewery is known for its Wagauji series, released in 2017 and named after a Buddhist concept evoking the unity of time and individual existence, produced by a brewing team mostly in their twenties.
