Matsuokina
Matsuokina is brewed by Matsuo Shuzo, founded in 1873 in Tosa Yamada, Kochi Prefecture, now in its seventh generation of family ownership. The brewery focuses on a clean, dry style suited to Tosa's food culture, using Kochi Prefecture yeast, locally produced sake rice, and water drawn from the deep ocean off Muroto for select expressions. Matsuokina remains largely consumed within Kochi Prefecture, where it is treasured as an insider's sake built for the table rather than the trophy shelf.
