Tuna & 40 Sakes in Musashi-Kosugi: À La Carte Tuna Dishes at Ginjo Maguro

The Experience

First Impressions & Vibe

Ginjo Maguro Musashi-Kosugi is a casual izakaya near Musashi-Kosugi Station where tuna dishes and Japanese sake take center stage. This time, instead of ordering a set course, we chose several à la carte dishes and paired them with the 120-minute all-you-can-drink sake tasting plan. It is an easygoing place for enjoying different styles of tuna alongside sake.

What We Ordered

We started with the 120-minute sake tasting all-you-can-drink plan for ¥2,970 (tax included).

For the food, we ordered the “Bluefin Tuna Lean & Medium-Fatty Tuna Assortment,” 2 pieces for ¥1,280 (tax included).

We also ordered:
Tuna Tartare with Pickled Radish ¥580 (tax included)
Tuna Bakudan ¥780 (tax included)
Grilled Eggplant with Tuna Miso and Cheese ¥680 (tax included)

Beyond classic sashimi, one of the highlights is being able to enjoy tuna in a variety of styles, including toro-taku, tuna bakudan, and the rich tuna miso and cheese eggplant dish. The tuna bakudan is designed to be enjoyed by mixing the ingredients together, while the grilled eggplant combines the deep umami of tuna miso with the richness of melted cheese.

Sake Highlights

The 120-minute sake tasting plan allows you to enjoy a broad selection of Japanese sake at your own pace.

Light, clean sake pairs especially well with sashimi, while richer styles work nicely with dishes such as tuna “Bakudan” and the tuna miso cheese eggplant. Being able to try different sake styles alongside different tuna dishes is one of the highlights of the experience.
