Description
Komekko, meaning 'rice child' or an affectionate term for the rice itself, is brewed using Akita Komachi, a rice variety developed in Akita Prefecture that is more commonly known as a table rice but is also used in local sake production. AKITAKENHAKKO KOGYO's Yuzawa brewery produces this sake to highlight the agricultural identity of Akita, where rice farming and sake brewing are deeply intertwined traditions. The use of Akita Komachi imparts a gentle, slightly sweet, and clean flavor profile that reflects the rice's mild character.
