La brasserie se trouve à Hokuto, préfecture de Yamanashi, entourée de la nature généreuse de Yatsugatake. Le nom Takesoi est dérivé du premier propriétaire Takezaemon et du puits d'où jaillit l'eau souterraine de Yatsugatake. Le riz de qualité provient de tout le pays, et la levure nécessaire à la fermentation est principalement obtenue auprès de l'Université d'Agriculture de Tokyo. L'eau souterraine au pied du mont Yatsugatake est utilisée comme eau de brassage.
