Fondée au milieu de la période Edo, en la première année de Kyoho (1716). L'origine de l'inscription de sake 'Shin Thunder' est liée au fait que la foudre frappa la brasserie, mais sans excès, dans un pays où Dieu habitait. Elle porte également le souhait de 'faire confiance et boire'. La brasserie est située dans le comté de Kamiishi, dans la préfecture de Hiroshima, à une altitude de 500 m, la plus haute altitude de la préfecture, avec un froid comparable au nord du Tohoku. Le climat froid et la méthode de brassage à l'eau douce transmise à la préfecture de Hiroshima permettent un brassage à la recherche de 'saveurs riches et rafraîchissantes'. Le thème est 'Le sake est le meilleur cadeau offert par l'environnement naturel du Japon', c'est pourquoi la brasserie travaille activement à l'élaboration qui exprime le climat et le paysage de l'entrepôt. Elle souhaite utiliser du riz de la préfecture de Hiroshima pour toutes les préparations et brasser un sake qui transmettra le climat de cette terre.

1716
Founded in 1716 (first year of the Kyoho era) in Yuki, Jinseki-gun, Hiroshima. The brand name 'Shinrai' derives from a legend of lightning striking the brewery without causing damage, and from the local place name 'Jinseki'.
1811
In February 1811, the Ino Tadataka land-survey expedition stayed overnight at the brewery.
2005
The current 15th-generation owner and toji, Yuji Miwa, returned to the brewery to study brewing techniques and management under his father, the 14th-generation owner-toji.
2015
Yuji Miwa became toji (master brewer). The same year, the brewery began commissioning local farmers to grow its sake rice.
2016
Yuji Miwa became representative director of the company.
2018
Revived the traditional 'kimoto' brewing method established in the Edo period.
