Story & Media
History
1868
Founded in the first year of the Meiji era (1868). Founder Yoshimoto Tatsuro launched the sake brand "Nangokuichi," named to be "the only sake of the southern land (Shikoku)." The current president is the 14th-generation head of the family business.
1951
Reorganized as Yoshimoto Jozo Co., Ltd. in October 1951 (Showa 26).
1988
Launched the sake brand "Bizan," including a junmai sake, in November 1988 (Showa 63).
2003
Awarded at the National New Sake Appraisal (Zenkoku Shinshu Kanpyokai) in 2003 (Heisei 15).
2004
Awarded at the National New Sake Appraisal again in 2004 (Heisei 16).
2006
Launched "Awa no Banchachu," a shochu-type drink made with Awa bancha tea, in March 2006 (Heisei 18).
2009
The Awa bancha plum liqueur "Bizan no Mai" won the Tokushima "Awa no Ippin" special selection award in 2009 (Heisei 21).
