History

Founded in Omi Province in 1532 (Tenbun 1), two years before the birth of Oda Nobunaga; considered one of the 4th or 5th oldest sake breweries in Japan.
1872
Shiga Prefecture's Ika District was established (present-day Kinomoto-cho, Nagahama City); the brewery has continued operating there ever since.
