Story & Media
History
1716
The Tajiri family settled in Yamashiro (present-day Imari, Saga Prefecture) and began brewing sake, the origin of Matsuuraichi Sake Brewery.
1953
During reroofing work on the main building, a mummified creature known as "Kahaku" (a legendary water spirit resembling a kappa) was discovered above the rafters; it is now displayed at the brewery.
