Madonoume Shuzo Co.,Ltd

Founded when Koga Rokuemon, a retainer of the Ryuzoji clan, was ordered to brew sake using the Saga domain's surplus rice. Sake was initially sold under the brand name Kangiku.

Under the eighth-generation Koga Bunzaemon, white plum blossoms scattering into the brewing vats inspired a sake offered to domain lord Nabeshima Naomasa; its acclaim led to the brand being renamed Madonoume.

Incorporated as Madonoume Shuzo Co., Ltd.

Became part of the Regional Frontier Group (Chiiki Mirai Group).

On November 1, 2022, the company was renamed from Madonoume Shuzo Co., Ltd. to Saga Shuzo Co., Ltd.

Phase 1 renovation construction (office and cold storage) was completed in February 2024.

On March 28, 2026, opened the Saga Shuzo Fukuoka Otemon Concept Shop in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City.

A three-phase full renovation of the brewery begun in April 2023 (newly built barrel storage, brewhouse, bottling plant, cold storage, and office across five buildings) was completed in April 2026.
