Kato Kahachiro Shuzo was established in 1872 in the Oyama district of Yamagata Prefecture's Shonai region, an area renowned for its rice and fed by the Mogami River and the snowmelt of Chokai and Dewa mountains. Brewed under the philosophy sake that harmonizes people, Ohyama pursues a clean and balanced style, and the brewery has earned gold prizes at the National New Sake Competition.
