Sake Brand
Manrei
Manrei is produced by Komatsu Shuzo, a brewery with origins in the Edo period in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, revived in 1998 when the seventh-generation owner Daisuke Komatsu returned to restore it to active production. Brewed entirely by hand in small quantities, the lineup includes a daiginjo using locally grown Yamada Nishiki polished to 38% and a junmai ginjo guided by the concept dry yet refreshing sweet, and the brewery earned a gold award at the Fukuoka National Tax Agency brewing competition just three years after reopening.
