Ichinokawa is produced by Ena Jozo Co., Ltd. at its Misato factory in Gifu Prefecture. The brewery was founded in 1818 in the mountainous Nakatsugawa area at approximately 600 meters elevation, where cold winters, terraced rice paddies, and soft spring water flowing from Futamori Mountain create the conditions for distinctive sake production. With a founding philosophy of quality first, Ena Jozo has maintained handmade brewing traditions while using locally grown Hida-homare rice from Gifu Prefecture.
