Fujimasa Shuzo was founded in 1866 and is known as the sake brewery closest to Mount Fuji, having relocated to the Asagiri Highland at 900 meters elevation in 2011 to take full advantage of the mountain's spring water and crisp high-altitude air. Chiyonomine is the brewery's heritage brand, representing Fujimasa's long tradition of sake production in the shadow of Japan's most iconic peak.
