History

1975
Four Saga City breweries (Madonotsuki, Akakabe, Morita, and Kitajima Shuzo) merged to found Yamato Brewing, Inc. on the former site of the prefectural sake brewing research institute.
1984
Began producing honkaku shochu.
1999
Launched 'Takedensetsu,' a bamboo-charcoal-filtered barley shochu, ahead of the nationwide bamboo charcoal boom.
2009
Released 'Strawberry Liqueur Sagahonoka,' developed under an agriculture-commerce-industry collaboration to make use of local resources.
2013
Merged operations with Tanaka Shuzo (founded 1640), a brewery that once supplied sake to the Hasuike domain, and began producing Japan's only water-caltrop shochu.
2014
Completed 'Gallery Yamato,' a visitor brewery facility on the company grounds.
2015
Held the first 'Spring Kurabiraki' open-brewery event.
2017
Katsura Fukuoka became President and Representative Director, with Kyoichi Kitajima becoming Chairman of the Board.
