Founded in 1891 at the base of the iconic Mount Bandai in Fukushima Prefecture, Bandai Shuzo produces Bandaiyama sake using groundwater from the Bandai Nishi-Sanroku Spring Group, designated one of Japan's Top 100 Famous Waters. The brewery describes its purpose as creating sake for sharing dreams over drinks, and the Bandaiyama lineup offers a broad range from everyday drinking sake to junmai ginjo, all known for a robust, fragrant character that does not tire the palate. Alongside the flagship brand, the brewery produces Aizu Sakura, a distinctive pink sake brewed with ancient black rice from the Aizu region.
