Asakiku is produced by Yasuoka Shuzojo, founded in 1926 in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture, a region long recognized as one of Kyushu's significant sake-producing areas. The brewery is situated in the Chikugo region, where the broad Chikushi Plain and abundant water from the Kyushu mountain range have supported sake brewing for generations. Its sake production reflects the local tradition of crafting rice-forward, food-compatible sake suited to the warm climate and cuisine of northern Fukuoka.
