Japanese style poke with tune and avocado
Refreshing tuna poke with Japanese flavors like dashi and wasabi, perfect with sake.

Poke is a Hawaiian dish that’s become popular worldwide, often featuring marinated raw fish with fresh vegetables. This Japanese-style poke takes inspiration from the original but adds a unique twist with dashi powder and wasabi, creating a flavor profile that pairs beautifully with sake. This version uses sashimi-grade tuna, creamy avocado, tobikko (flying fish roe), and crunchy green onion, all tied together with a savory soy–mirin–sesame dressing. It’s refreshing, full of umami, and simple to prepare. Perfect for sake lovers, but it also goes great with beer or as a light appetizer for gatherings.
