What you'll need

  • Sushi-grade salmon … 100g
  • Avocado … 1/2
  • Red onion … 1/8
  • Garlic paste … 1/2 tsp
  • Wasabi … 1/2 tsp
  • Mayonnaise … 1 tbsp
  • Soy sauce, salt & pepper … a pinch each
  • Black pepper … to taste (a bit extra recommended)
  • Parsley … to taste
  • Sour cream or mascarpone … optional
  • Baguette or toasted bread … as needed

How to make it

1
Step 1

Finely chop 1/8 red onion. Roughly dice 100g sushi-grade salmon.

2
Step 2

Cut 1/2 avocado into cubes, place in a bowl, and mash lightly.

3
Step 3

Add the salmon and red onion to the bowl. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper, extra black pepper, 1/2 tsp garlic paste, 1/2 tsp wasabi, 1 tbsp mayonnaise, and a splash of soy sauce. Mix well until combined.

4
Step 4

Transfer to a plate, sprinkle with parsley, and top with sour cream (or mascarpone) if desired.

5
Step 5

Finish with an extra sprinkle of black pepper and serve with bread.

Tips

  • Mash the avocado well before mixing with the other ingredients to help everything blend smoothly.
  • Adding sour cream or mascarpone makes it richer and adds a refreshing touch.
  • You can use regular onion instead of red onion.
  • Fresh garlic tastes even better than garlic paste.
