Uhousen es producido por Itoushuzou en la prefectura de Gifu, una región interior del centro de Honshu donde el agua clara de los ríos de los Alpes japoneses ha apoyado desde hace tiempo la producción de sake de calidad. Este sake refleja el carácter puro y mineral del agua de Gifu y el enfoque de la bodega para elaborar sake con identidad regional.
